A Message from Our Chair
Dear Friends of Heart,
I am honored to serve as your Chairman of the American Heart Association’s 2011 Heart Ball. As a longtime supporter of the AHA, I am thrilled to lead this upcoming Heart Ball to raise more critical research dollars, to impact more lives in our community and to celebrate more advancements to cardiovascular health than ever before. This is our year to make a difference and I need your help.
Over the past few years, the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police has supported the American Heart Association’s efforts to improve the lives of the children in our community. Together, we have placed AEDs in schools and Police Athletic League fields, encouraged healthy choices and creativity through the Art for Heart project at the Reed Educational Campus and hosted an annual holiday party for local children battling congenital heart disease. In 2011, we are ready to go one step further with the first annual Healthy Family Training Camp, inviting children and families in underprivileged areas to participant in a fun-filled educational event decorated with sports themed learning stations. You can be a part of this effort to build healthier families on the First Coast.
There are only exciting things in the future for the American Heart Association and the Heart Ball. Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 19th to join me at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort for the 2011 Heart Ball ‘Tuxes and Tennis Shoes”. This is promised to be an unforgettable evening filled with exciting entertainment, live and silent auctions and a wonderful dinner. Dress your best and embrace the mission of physical fitness by wearing tennis shoes with your black tie attire. This is a time to gather your friends together and celebrate the strides we are taking to make our community a heart-healthy place to live.
From My Heart to Yours,
Nelson Cuba
